[There's been a low lingering fog within the Baker Street home lately. The source? One very sick lawyer who should not be wandering around the house right now. But he was thirsty and didn't want to stay in bed anymore. He barely gets down to the second floor though, when he gets a bit of a dizzy spell, his legs going weak.] Mmm... [It's a good thing there's this nice warm wall conveniently there for him to flop onto so he doesn't completely fall over.]

[Nice warm wall? Nnnope, that's a nice warm person. Holmes was just headed towards the bathroom when Naruhodou suddenly slammed into him and stopped moving. There's about three seconds of pause, then he takes hold of his housemate's shoulders.]

Mr. Naruhodou...?

[Oh, this wall is talking. When he lifts his head, he can blearily see this is a person.] ...? Oh, Holmes. [Whatever else he wanted to say, it's not happening as he rest his head on his shoulder. He's warm, but maybe it's the stuffiness in the air.]

[...Well. Hum. Holmes will just keep holding onto him, then.]

Should you be up and about?

Mm. [Was that a no or a yes?] Water...

Right! Water! Yes! [Holmes can get him a glass of water! Sure!

... except that he can't, because he's still holding Naruhodou upright.]

Ah. Would you like to sit down?

[Sitting?...That does sound nice. For a moment it seem like he was going to pass out as he falls, but he's just going to sit down right there, on the floor.]

Ah- [That's an unexpected turn of events, but... Good enough! Holmes will take it. He pats Naruhodou on the shoulder one last time.]

Right. You just wait here. I'll be right back!

Mm... [That's the only response that he acknowledges what Holmes was saying. The wall he leans onto now is cold, but nice with his head feeling numb. He coughs quietly, trying to keep himself awake for however long it takes for Holmes to come back.]

[It takes a minute or so, but Holmes does return, glass in hand. He crouches down in front of his friend and gives him another gentle shake.]

Mr. Naruhodou?

[At this point, the entire hallway was covered in a stuffy warm haze.] Hm? [Someone talking in this fog?] Yes? Oh- [Right, water. He reaches out, holding the glass in both hands.] Sorry....probably should have called for someone instead.

[He's keeping a close eye on that glass! It's entirely possible Naruhodou isn't strong or lucid enough to keep it upright. Let there be no spills!]

No, no, don't worry about it! When struck with illness, all one wants to do is stretch their legs. [aaand then get scolded for it, usually. Holmes has had plenty of that.]

[He hums quietly as he takes a sip from his glass. The cold water helped his throat a bit.]

Are you speaking from your own experience? [He teases, because Holmes sure doesn't know how to sit still.]

Hmm... I don't know, am I? It does sound like me, doesn't it? [He taps a finger against his forehead, then sits up a bit straighter.] So how do you feel?

[He hums, too out of it to respond to his roundabout answer.] I feel... [He looks down at his water suspiciously.] Did you put something in this?

[He blinks and looks down at the glass as well.]

Nnnno? I don't believe I did. [Or did he??? ...No, he's got nothing on hand to slip in there.]

[That's a really comforting response.] ...Taste like water. I thought you'd put me under some kind of test, if I passed out or hop around or something.

What? [He immediately tries to press a hand against Naruhodou's forehead.] Your fever must be worse than I thought. Such odd thoughts could only be delirium!

I'm...I'm not being delirious. [He makes a feeble attempt to swat Holmes' hand away.] You're always up to some kind of invention or experiment.

Any good, responsible scientist would refrain from testing these concoctions on their housemate without prior warning!

[He's not a responsible scientist, though. He's tested stuff on Mikotoba in the past and he may have tested stuff on Naruhodou as well.]

But you're not a responsible scientist. [Dang he just laying it out there. Maybe being sick makes him more blunt.]

[He produces a very loud, huffing sound at that, then acts like he didn't hear it.]

Come now, up you get. Back to bed with you.

[He groans. Does he have to? The floor is already pretty nice.] 'Kay... [He grabs him by the shoulder with his free hand. You're gonna help him, right?]

[Oop, that's a hand on his shoulder, there. He'll just carefully ease the glass from Naruhodou's grip then, otherwise things may go horribly wrong. It'll be safer on the floor. ...In the middle of the hallway. Yep.]

There's a good lad. [Up you go, Naruhodou! Holmes has got you.]

Mm, you're a good friend. [He turns to give Holmes a hug, mostly for the extra support. As he does so, he taps the glass and there goes the water, oops.]
