Hooooooooolmes! [Where ever Holmes might be on this particular day, Naruhodou is around the Baker Street home in search of him. The air around the home currently had a citrusy scent to it, as Naruhodou had been busy preparing for their Christmas meal tonight.]

Hm, did he go out...? [He crosses his arm, tapping his foot as he stood in the living area.]

[While the living area may seem abandoned at first glance, perhaps Naruhodou needs to examine the place a bit closer. If he glances towards the couch, he may spot an arm sticking out from behind it.

That's right, Holmes fell asleep on the floor again.]

[He's looking....looking...what was that sticking out from the couch? He leaves the gifts he was carrying onto the table and crawls over the couch to find his poor detective friend fast asleep on the floor. Aw.] Merry Christmas!! [He shouts as loudly as he could, happy to be doing so.]

[Sherlock is having the most wonderful dream about toast with strawberry jam and clocks going tick-tock. Somehow, this is sure to inspire a genius invention. Trouble is, out of nowhere, his slumber is disturbed by a loud noise and the dream begins to fade as his consciousness is drawn back to reality.

No- Nooo!]

Mrrrrghhh... [is what he grumbles into the carpet.]

[He laughs softly, grabbing a hold of his hand.] Come on, you don't want to sleep through today! The floor isn't the best place to take a nap anyway.

[Sherlock's hand remains perfectly limp, though he does roll his head sideways. That's some movement.]

Nnnnooooo...

[He tugs at his arm, gently of course.] It's almost lunchtime, and I do have presents to give.

[...

........]

[He sits up quite suddenly, pulling his arm out of Naruhodou's hold. As he does so, the floor quakes and a nearby light springs on.]

Presents?! PRESENTS, you say?!

[WELL. That was more effective than he thought.] Y-Yea...! [He nearly falls backwards from the couch.]

They're right here. Come around the couch and I can give it to you. [His gift was sitting on the table, wrapped up in a furoshiki. When he opens it, he'll find some caramel taffy, a supply kit to replenish his flask and such, and a strange looking cube.]

[Well, come on. It's presents! How could Holmes not be wide awake for that? He scrambles his way around the couch and towards the table, his eyes immediately on the furoshiki.]

Oooh, Mr. Naruhodou! You shouldn't have! I couldn't possibly accept!

[His fingers are already untying the furoshiki before that last sentence even ends, though. While all the other stuff is amazing, his hand reaches for the cube first of all, holding it up to the light with a loud "oooooh" sound.]

(And yet he's already opening his gifts...) [He quietly observes him examining his gifts until his sights landed on the harmless cube. He grins.] It's called a twitch cube, a sort of sensory toy to occupy your hands while you're thinking or working. You can push and turn the gears, even take it apart and put it back together if you like.

[Just as Naruhodou explains, Sherlock's fingers begin to turn the gears. The clicking is particularly satisfying and he doesn't even know why. He just knows that it is.]

This is delightful! So simple in its nature, yet so very captivating! I'll make good use of this. Then... [He trails off for a moment, then hops to his feet.] Yes! Right! Your gift! I have one, of course. It's very well hidden so you could not stumble upon it by accident. So it must be... Hm... Upstairs! One moment!

[He sprints from the room without further delay and a second later, his feet can be heard pounding up the stairs.]

Oh, good! [He half expected Holmes to not take the idea of the item, eventhough it really suits a person like him. He flops onto the couch as Holmes starts running up the stairs, frowning slightly.] (Maybe he hid it too well.)

Um, do you need some help looking for it? [He calls up when the detective takes a bit of time.]

[Holmes did indeed hide it a bit too well, so to speak. It wouldn't be a problem if he could just remember where he hid it so well. He's still digging through drawers when Naruhodou calls up to him.]

No, no! Don't bother! It was specifically hidden so that you wouldn't find it!

[A-hah! Here it is- oh no, hold on, that's Asougi's gift. He'll just put that aside for now. Another ten seconds later, he comes traipsing back down the stairs.]

Not upstairs. I knew that. It must be around here somewhere.

[Aaand now he's tilting the couch up onto its back so he can check whether he taped the gift to the bottom of it. No luck.]

Whoa- [Naruhodou clings onto the couch when he suddenly lifts it. Does this gift actually exist...? He wouldn't blame him if he forgot.] U-Uh, did you put it under the floorboards or something?

[He lowers the couch again, shaking his head.] No no, that would be illogical. Let me see, the last place where you would find it... Ah!

[Give him a second as he dashes over toooo... the liquor cabinet! (Or whatever cabinet constitutes for such a thing.) There, behind a few bottles of Holmes's favorite wine, is a wrapped gift. See, he knew it existed! And the wrapping paper even glitters.]

There we are!

[He keeps watching, pondering over what Holmes thought was a place he wouldn't look. Really anywhere in Holmes' study would be somewhere he wouldn't really look, mostly because he's worried something might explode.] Oh, in there? [Guess he would overlook a cabinet that wasn't outstanding in any way.]

I'm glad you were able to find it! [And now that he has the gift, his curiosity kicks in. What could the famous detective have gotten him??]

Ohoh, I'm sure you are! It's quite a good gift, after all. I've outdone myself this year.[He twirls the box around in his hands for a moment, then holds it out.] So. Merry Christmas, Mr. Naruhodou!

[Inside the box, Naruhodou will find a very nice alarm clock! Once it's taken out, Sherlock will explain:]

Isn't it marvelous? This clock has a very special feature to it. Once the alarm goes off, it will not only emit a sound, it will emit a feeling of urgency. Anxiety, if you will. Something like that is bound to get a person out of bed, wouldn't you agree?

Oh-! [At first, the idea of having an alarm clock was great, until Sherlock further explains how it works.] O-Oh, anxiety inducement. That's definitely one way to get someone not to sleep through their alarm. [He's trying his best to sound happy about his gift, but he can't help wondering if feeling anxious first thing in the morning is a good thing. He's anxious enough without an alarm clock.]

I'll definitely make use to this. Maybe I should have gotten you one too.
