[He'll reach for the package he left on the bed and present it to Holmes. The yukata itself came custom with Holmes' emblem, embrodered onto the robe.] I just hope I worked out the measurements right.

[NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT SNAKES, MR. NARUHODOU!

Once the package is handed to him, he opens it up without delay and holds up the yukata with both hands.]

Oooh... That looks so nice! I had feared it would be all blackish, like your uniform!

[A deep frown.] T-There's nothing wrong with my uniform. [A sigh.] Would you like an explanation on how to put it on?

[Squint.] Well, it's just clothing, isn't it? Why would it come with an explanation? Arms go in the pants and legs go in the sleeves. [.........] Or vice versa!

I would hope it's the other way around. [He shakes his head.] Besides putting it on, the yukata has to be wrapped around your body in a certain way. For starters, the left side must always cross the right in the front.

[He pauses, then turns the yukata around in his hands.]

Ah... When you say left... Do you mean my left? When I am wearing it? Or your left when you gaze upon me wearing it?

Ah, your left. That's really the important thing to remember when you wear a yukata.

So... My left goes in the front when wearing it... And then the sash thing goes around it...?

[ryuwrighthistory]

[He nods.] That's right. Ah, would it help if I demonstrate by putting on mine?

Errr... I suppose so? [He won't be taking notes, so here's to hoping he gets it in one go.]

All right. I'll go get mine then. [When he comes back with his yukata, he'll also get a change of place and wear a short sleeve shirt and shorts.]

Normally you wouldn't wear too much underneath a yukata, but you can where a short sleeve shirt underneath if you like, especially when it's cold. [He's going to use one side of Holmes' bed to set aside the parts and also does the same for Holmes.] Why don't you follow along with me?

[Oh great, he gets to stand by Naruhodou in his underpants again. This should be good. He'll definitely wear more than just briefs, though. It's basically January and it it is cold out there! Short sleeve shirt and shorts it is.]

Ah... All right. Lead the way, Mr. Naruhodou!

All right! [He picks up the yukata and starts putting it on.] When you wrap the yukata around your body, make sure you adjust if it's too low to the ground.

[He demonstrates, wrapping the right than the left side of the yukata.] You want your ankles to at least show.

[Holmes clumsily follows the lead, hitching up the fabric as he goes. It is a good fit, overall.]

Why would I want my ankles to show? Isn't it too cold out for that?

So you don't trip on your yukata or get it dirty. And you'll be wearing socks so it'll be fine. [He watches Holmes put on the Yukata, occasionally reaching out to help further adjust it and get the crinkles out.]

. . .Huh, this is a good fit for you.

[Holmes has to whirl around and crane his head in some pretty awkward angles to get a good look of himself.]

Is it? You believe so? Am I just a natural at wearing yukatas?

Ah- [He grabs a hold onto Holmes, making sure the yukata doesn't come apart.] You're a natural at getting it undone, that's for sure. Hold still for a moment. . .

[He'll get the first sash wrap around Holmes so the yukata will at least hold.]

[Boo, fine, he'll hold still. He does so with great reluctance, though, because the loose fabric of the yukata is making him want to twirl around even more.]

Like that? Is that how it goes?

Ah, y-yea. . . (I wonder if I should put on an extra sash for him, just in case.) [He should probably just do that honestly.]

There. We've successfully got passed the hard part! Now you just need to tie on the hakama pants and coat to finish the look.
